Once we settled down at Connaught Hall in London, where we would be staying for a couple of days, we were ready to explore the city! Since it was Saturday, we headed out to Portobello Road to check out the
market!! Just recently I had watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks and really wanted to see what Portobello Road was all about and if it was anything like the movie.

The idea was similar, but unlike how the movie portrays the area as dark and dingy ... Portobello Road is actually located within Nottinghill, which is an extremely exclusive area. As we walked around, I noticed a diverse group of people ... some tourists, some people that looked extremely wealthy, some people that appeared homeless wandering around, and others that worked for part of the day, but were checking out the other vendors.

We walked the market from end to end ... we found a great deal on pashmina scarves so each of us (Kristin, Michelle, and I) bought one! There were many places to eat, lots of fresh fruit, and specialty foods on both sides of the road so Kristin bought some yummy raspberries for only one pound and we split a bowl of seafood paella.
